One of the oldest kinds of incense, frankincense is an aromatic substance used also as a medicine and perfume, traced back over 5000 years.
With gold and myrrh, frankincense is mentioned in the New Testament as one of the three gifts from the three wise men for the birth of Jesus.
 
In contrary to myrrh, frankincense is yin and female, which means calming, relaxing and nourishing.
